Liquidity, Structured
Around Your Assets.
Private credit provides an alternative source of financing for individuals, entrepreneurs and businesses seeking to access liquidity against assets they already own, without necessarily selling them.
Sutterson Reed focuses on short-term, asset-backed financing, where the nature and value of the underlying security form a central part of the lending assessment.
Through established relationships with private lenders and specialist capital providers, we identify and coordinate financing opportunities across different asset classes and jurisdictions, taking into account each client’s circumstances, requirements and intended repayment strategy.
More Than Lending.
The Right Capital Structure.
Access to private capital is only the beginning. The value lies in identifying the appropriate lender, assessing the underlying security and structuring a facility around the client’s wider financial circumstances.
We coordinate private lending relationships, independent valuations, security arrangements and the relevant professional parties, bringing each element together within one considered financing process.

Your Assets Come First.
Every private credit requirement begins with understanding the asset and the circumstances surrounding it.
Its value, ownership, location, liquidity and the client’s wider financial position all influence the appropriate financing structure.
Sutterson Reed considers these elements together, identifying suitable private lending opportunities and coordinating the assessment, valuation and financing process through the relevant specialists.
Whether the security consists of property, fine art, investment-grade wines, luxury watches or financial securities, our approach remains consistent: understand the asset, establish the financing requirement and coordinate the appropriate capital solution.
Private Credit, Explained.
Real Estate Finance provides short-term financing secured against eligible residential investment properties, commercial real estate and property portfolios. It allows property owners, investors and entrepreneurs to access liquidity against the value of their real estate holdings without necessarily disposing of the underlying assets.
Facilities may be structured to support property acquisitions, refinancing of existing obligations, bridging requirements, capital release or transactions involving time-sensitive opportunities. Financing can be considered against a single property or a portfolio of assets, depending on the jurisdiction, ownership structure and proposed security arrangements.
The assessment takes into account the property's location, market value, current use, occupancy, existing indebtedness and the borrower's intended repayment strategy. Independent valuations, legal due diligence and appropriate security arrangements form part of the financing process. Depending on the transaction, lenders may require a first-ranking legal charge or consider alternative security structures.
Through its relationships with private lenders and specialist capital providers, Sutterson Reed identifies and coordinates suitable financing opportunities, bringing together the relevant parties from initial assessment through to completion.
Facilities are structured individually, with lending terms, advance rates and repayment arrangements determined by the characteristics of the property and the requirements of the relevant lender.
Fine Art Finance provides access to private financing secured against valuable paintings, recognised works of art and established fine art collections. It offers collectors, private individuals and families an opportunity to explore liquidity against significant artistic holdings without necessarily having to sell them.
Eligible collateral may include paintings by established international artists, Old Masters, Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary works, and other recognised categories of fine art. Financing may be considered against a single significant artwork or a diversified collection, depending on the quality, provenance and marketability of the assets.
The assessment focuses on authenticity, documented ownership, provenance, condition, exhibition and transaction history, and independently established market value. Specialist appraisers and recognised art-market professionals may be engaged to determine the suitability of the collateral and its potential realisable value.
Security arrangements are established according to the nature of the collection and the requirements of the lender. These may include specialist insurance, professional storage, controlled custody or other agreed arrangements for the protection of the underlying artworks.
Sutterson Reed coordinates the financing process through specialist art lenders, independent valuation professionals and relevant legal advisers, with attention to confidentiality, the preservation of the collection and the client's wider financial objectives.
Facility amounts, durations and advance rates are assessed individually and remain subject to the lender's acceptance of the underlying security.
Fine Wine Finance provides short-term financing opportunities secured against eligible collections of investment-grade wines. It enables qualifying collectors, investors and owners of significant wine portfolios to explore access to liquidity against their holdings without necessarily undertaking an immediate sale.
Eligible collections may include recognised Bordeaux classified growths, leading Burgundy producers, prestigious Champagne houses and other investment-grade wines with established secondary-market demand. Portfolios may consist of individual high-value bottles, original wooden cases or diversified collections held in professional storage facilities.
The financing assessment considers the producer, vintage, quantity, provenance, condition, storage history and current market value of the collection. Particular attention is given to authenticity, ownership documentation, market liquidity and the quality of the storage arrangements, including whether the wines are maintained in an appropriate bonded warehouse or specialist facility.
Independent wine-market specialists may be involved in establishing the collection's valuation and determining which holdings are suitable as security. Depending on the financing structure, the lender may require the wines to remain under controlled professional custody, with appropriate insurance and restrictions on their disposal throughout the facility.
Sutterson Reed coordinates access to relevant private capital providers and specialist wine-market expertise, bringing together the valuation, custody and financing requirements within a structured process.
Financing availability, eligible wines and advance rates depend on the lender's assessment of the collection and its underlying marketability.
Luxury Watch Finance provides access to short-term financing secured against exceptional timepieces and established luxury watch collections. It is designed for qualifying individuals and collectors seeking to release liquidity against valuable watches without necessarily entering into an immediate sale.
Eligible timepieces may include selected references from internationally recognised watchmakers such as Patek Philippe, Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille, Vacheron Constantin and other established manufacturers. Consideration is given to the individual model, rarity, condition, provenance and prevailing secondary-market demand rather than the manufacturer's name alone.
The assessment typically involves independent authentication and valuation, verification of ownership, inspection of serial and reference numbers, and consideration of accompanying documentation, original presentation boxes, certificates and service history where available.
Financing is assessed against the accepted market value of the timepieces, with advance rates reflecting their liquidity, desirability and potential realisable value. Specialist lenders may require the watches to be transferred into secure, insured custody for the duration of the facility.
Sutterson Reed coordinates relevant specialist lending relationships and the associated valuation and security process, providing clients with a discreet and organised approach to financing against high-value horological assets.
Facility durations, minimum values, custody conditions and repayment arrangements depend on the individual watches and the requirements of the financing provider.
Securities-Backed Finance provides access to financing secured against eligible financial investment portfolios, allowing qualifying investors, entrepreneurs and shareholders to explore liquidity without necessarily liquidating their existing securities.
Eligible collateral may include publicly listed equities, government and corporate bonds, exchange-traded funds and selected investment fund holdings. Depending on the lender's criteria, financing may be considered against diversified investment portfolios or certain concentrated positions, including substantial shareholdings in publicly traded companies.
The assessment considers the composition and market value of the portfolio, asset liquidity, concentration, volatility, currency exposure and the nature of the securities offered as collateral. The borrower's existing financing arrangements, ownership structure and intended use of proceeds are also relevant to establishing an appropriate facility.
Security may be structured through a pledge over eligible securities held with an approved custodian or another arrangement agreed with the financing provider. As market values fluctuate, lenders may apply ongoing collateral monitoring, maintenance requirements and margin calls, potentially requiring additional security or partial repayment if the portfolio declines in value.
Sutterson Reed identifies and coordinates opportunities through specialist securities-backed lending providers and relevant private capital relationships, considering the financing requirement alongside the client's wider banking and financial circumstances.
Unlike traditional bank Lombard facilities, specialist private credit arrangements may involve different eligibility criteria, security mechanisms and contractual conditions. Each proposal is therefore assessed individually, with particular attention to the treatment and control of the underlying securities.
